You may wish to have a look at the Draft of Final Report of the New
TLD Evaluation Process Planning Task Force at
<http://www.icann.org/committees/ntepptf/draft-final-report-15jun02.htm>.
Some of the questions proposed in that draft report look, quite
frankly, rather biased. You may wish to read that report and submit
collective or individual comments about it. This could also be
helpful in order to pass the message that an at-large membership is
actually ocntributing in a reasonable way.
Things to talk about in such a response could include:
- cost of trademark protection mechanisms for end users, in terms
of additional complications and abuses;
- an examination of the priorities set by the task force: Which
aspects must be understood before new TLDs are introduce? Which
aspects can, basically, be left to proponents' business models,
and market forces?
Regards,
