Mediachannel.org is the sort of thing that brings networks together -- not just a source of media lists and organization names but a way to get word out when something important happens that will affect Internet users. 

Aside from the very valuable personal recruiting efforts, we'd need to be tapped into the existing networks where issues are discussed and efforts pooled, I think.
