In light of the recent resignations, I'd recommend that the existing panel
appoint a new Chair. Rather than conduct a new set of elections, I'd also
leave it to the panel to decide whether to appoint two replacements or work
under a reduced set of members. Either is completely acceptable to me.

   -- Bret (a U.S. lawyer who frequently practices in the area of
           trademarks who has no qualms about using the word "icann"
           in his own domain name).
