Re: [atlarge-discuss] RE: [atlarge-panel] Re: [atlarge-discuss] Incorporating Non-Profit in Oregon

Bruce

I certainly appreciate this generous offer of money and time - the one
hesitation I have is over whether we should incorporate our central
organisation in the US - I wonder if in terms of potential litigation, it
would be better to incorporate outside the US - I also wonder if,
symbolically, we should incorporate outside US to send a message that we are
a worldwide org and clearly not US-centric - in the event that the going
gets rough and we find ourselves at odds with DoC/US etc would it be better
to be based outsideUS - also to send the message that internet governance is
not a US-based affair?

I'm not dogmatic on this. I'm just wondering.

Of course, as Jefsey has suggested, there is also a case for individual
organisations like AmericaWest.atlarge.org to incorporate locally.
