Well, to paraphrase another cliché about the best planned lays of mice
and men (sic), whatever the agenda was once for this election, it is NOW
taking place to elect a short term Panel of hopefully well-informed and
well-intentioned representatives for this organization with the limited
scope and definition discussed in this forum.  Whatever we, as members,
achieve by this can, if need be, be overturned or impeached later.  

"D... the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"  We can always apologize to each
other later if we do not achieve as much as we hope.

Nevertheless, as enough of us suggested that this election, as it is
being
held, should not go forward, yet it did, "we" let it happen - "we"
should
have done more.

Why - because of a few, "we" will suffer the results of what "we"
allowed
to happen...this, almost as if it was planned.
