News Corp president signals war on film pirates

Peter Chernin, the president and chief operating operator of News
Corporation, on Monday signalled that the digital television industry
could be gearing up for a battle against piracy of similar
proportions to that seen among the music majors.
"The survival of our industry is threatened by the lack of digital
content protection. The illegal copying and exchanging of content
over the internet represents a serious threat," he said in a tough-
talking keynote address at the FT New Media and Broadcasting
conference.
