I. CONSUMER WHITE PAPER: `MODERN MARKETS:
CONFIDENT CONSUMERS'
A copy of the consumer white paper can be obtained
from the Stationery Office (telephone orders on 0870
600 5522) or on the Internet at:
http://www.dti.gov.uk/consumer/whitepaper
The white paper is, as the name suggests, relevant
to the interests of consumers, but it does recognise
that counterfeiting and piracy are activities which
can adversely affect consumers. There are specific
references to counterfeiting and piracy in
paragraphs 3.20, 3.21, 7.4 and 7.9. Any comments on
the white paper should be sent to Stephen Haddrill,
Director of Consumer Affairs at the address
indicated in the white paper. The deadline for
receipt of comments is 29 October 1999. It would be
appreciated if comments relevant to intellectual
property crime could also be copied to the address
at the end of this notice.
