RE: [atlarge-discuss] Limited mandate for interim panel

It occurs to me that the Panel could assist with outreach by putting the new
logo out for competition. To that end I pledge $100 towards prize money.
This may not seem much for a professional, but we have a Cultural Arts
School here on Long Island for gifted Art students, some of whom are pushing
the boundaries on computer graphics and would be thrilled to be offered such
a prestigious opportunity to add to their portfolio and resume. Art Colleges
all over the world would respond to this appeal, but if you're not keen to
involve so many folks, allow me to investigate the local resources here.

It will require writing a design brief and part of that will be deciding on
the name of the organization, although that is not entirely necessary if
what we're looking for is a symbol, an image, rather than a logotype, which
is a stylized piece of text.

IMO we need to get past images of trying to break down ICANN walls and start
speaking to the general public. If anybody wants to confer with me about
writing the brief, I'm happy to help draft something to put before the panel
for approval.

Regards,
Joanna
