[atlarge-discuss] Re: [atlarge-panel] new schedule for icannatlarge.com elections

I sent my previous mail after getting back from a camping trip with 16 kids
(and my brain befuddled) and I hadn't read all the posts or fully understood
the issues. I therefore retract my previous mail, as I can see that it would
be
anti-democratic to call the election without giving ALL members information
about it, and the full chance to make nominations for the executive.

I therefore concur that the dates should be put forward 10 to 14 days, and
frankly at this stage, the issue is no longer the dates and our failed
mandate,
but proceeding in an orderly fashion towards a democratic outcome.

I request the next elected executive be granted the powers to alter the
"charter"
except those parts which deal specifically with their election, but that as
a
safeguard if 10% of the membership call for a vote on any amendments,
then that vote would overrule the executives alterations. In this way, we
need
not trouble too much about disagreements over the charter because it can be
developed constructively AFTER the election.

I request that amended dates for nominations to close, nominations to be
accepted, and voting to commence be passed by the panel in a vote sent
out within 24 hours if possible.

I fully expect the successful election of 11 people to a new executive to
take
place as planned, but now just a few days later.

Thank you.

Richard Henderson

People,

the current schedule for icannatlarge.com elections isn't doable.
