[atlarge-discuss] Rejecting the ALAC

The recent postings by JKhan have been quite helpful in allowing me to think
in analogous terms.

Our current At-Large organizing effort may be equated to a partisan
Resistance movement that continues the fight well after the initial major
battles have been lost. We have our immediate foes, and we have collaborators
within our midst -- those that intend to work on the implementation details
of a Committee that will formalize the loss of our "representational" rights.

Participation has never been an issue. All of us have been at liberty to
participate by joining constituencies if so inclined, by contributing to the
work of the DNSO General Assembly, by posting to the Public Forums, by
speaking up at ICANN sessions, and by sending letters to the Board, staff,
and relevant governmental entities.

The issue is "representation".

It is the only means of ensuring that our voice is actually "heard". The
proposed ALAC forever denies us the prospect of representation and should be
categorically rejected by each and every At-Large representative. It is time
to take a defiant stand.

As for the fifth columnists among us, you will long be remembered by your
actions.
