Re: [atlarge-discuss] 006 Deciding Name for Organisation
Good morning, Judyth:
I really do like your VoxPopuli.org suggestion. Unfortunately that name
is taken.
VoxPouliVoxDei.org and VoxPopuliVoxDei.com are both available,
but the acronym invokes a Vice President with a communicable disease and the
Deity reference is not universally acceptable.
What about VoxPouliVoxInternet ? The Voice of the People is the Voice
of the Internet ? VPVI.org and VPVI.com are both available as is vp.vi
(I happen to be a manager of the dotVI ccTLD).
What about VoxInternet ? The Voice of the Internet ?
VoxInternet.com and VoxInternet.net are both taken, but VoxInternet.org is
available, as is vi.vi

VoxPopuli.org if it isn't already taken. Outside North America, a lot of
people still study Latin, and many who know nothing of the language know the
quotation "vox populi, vox dei" ("The voice of the people is the voice of
God") which expresses the fundamental principle of democracy in four words.
