Re: [atlarge-discuss] Focused Mission Statement (was: point of order)
We have some problems with Joops stuff here.
1. A mission statement is a preamble. Stating a slanted history is redundant
which is good in computers but poor in writing.
2. Mention of the USG is negative at best and dissuasive to membership at worst.
3. A mission statement is not a controlling document and needs to be vague and
glorious and not contemptuous and pious.
OTOH I like what he says and we should work it in, but democracy requires
diplomacy.
Other than that I have no opinion on the matter ;-}
