[atlarge-discuss] Panel Chair Election and ISOC transparency/openness, does it exist?
All stakeholders or other interested parties and members,
My fellow members, recently we have had a Panel election of
some questionable concern expressed by some members, including
myself for Chair of the Panel and the association with the
ISOC. As the ISOC some months ago, which was met with some
serious concern on the DNSO GA forum list (See archives)
eliminated individual members into it's ranks as members that can
have any real voice or vote on it's positions, policies that it claims
to represent the Internet "Society". In addition the lack of
transparency
and openness of the ISOC is clearly shown in that none of it's
mailing list forums have archives that are available for public review,
see http://www.isoc.org/members/discuss/members.shtml for instance.
Hence it seems obvious that such an organization that purports to
be a benevolent organization interested in the "Society of the Internet"
is quite limited and frankly inconsistent with real legitimacy as to
that
it's name...
Therefore can we as members expect to have good chair leadership
from the newly Panel elected chair given such a backdrop? Are we
potentially facing some COI problems from the newly elected Panel
Chair?
Regards,
