[atlarge-discuss] Verisign Spam [Fwd: Service Enhancements - Account Review Recommended]

All,

I have long since moved all domain registrations under my control away from Verisign, yet I keep receiving mail from them. Below is the most recent unsolicited message.

Following is an important account notification sent in accordance with our Service Agreement.

Dear Network Solutions® Customer,

I am excited to share with you the new capabilities we launched this week, which will make it even easier for you to manage your account(s) with Network Solutions. These enhancements are a direct result of feedback from customers and are designed to deliver simplified account management and improved levels of service. Key features include:

Newly Designed Web Site. Our Web site, www.networksolutions.com <http://info1.networksolutions.com/h/YZ2Q/1MLW/MQ/97P9B1>, is more user-friendly and organized to make it easier for you to complete purchases, renew services, and find information.

Redesigned Account Manager. To give you total control and flexibility to manage your account, we have redesigned our automated online account management tool. This will allow you to more quickly and easily manage your services with the addition of:
- Simplified navigation to help you perform tasks
- Multiple ways to sort, search and make changes to your services
- Improved ways to renew and add new domains and services to grow your online business.

Simplified Account Access. To make it easier for you to access your account we have added several new capabilities:
- Single Login. Manage all domain names and account(s) with a single USER ID by using the new Account Manager to merge multiple User IDs. The term USER ID replaces the Username/Account #. When you log in, enter your former Username/Account # in the USER ID field.
- Automatic Login. To use this feature enter your User ID and password once, and then check the box that will enable the computer you are using to automatically log you in to Account Manager each time you return.
- Online Password Retrieval. Retrieve a forgotten password online with just your USER ID or email address.

New Security Controls and Features. To give you greater control over who has access to your account and eliminate the need to share passwords, we have new contact titles and permissions. Learn more <http://info1.networksolutions.com/h/6DXL/1MLW/MQ/97P9B1> about these changes.

Thank you for choosing Network Solutions. I hope that the positive impact of these changes will be evident to you each time you do business with us. You have my commitment that we will continue to deliver the highest level of service to meet your online needs.

Sincerely,

John Donoghue
Executive Vice President

"The science of jurisprudence regards the state and power as the
ancients regarded fire- namely, as something existing absolutely.
But for history, the state and power are merely phenomena, just as for
modern physics fire is not an element but a phenomenon.

From this fundamental difference between the view held by history
and that held by jurisprudence, it follows that jurisprudence can tell
minutely how in its opinion power should be constituted and what
power- existing immutably outside time- is, but to history's questions
about the meaning of the mutations of power in time it can answer
nothing."
