Hmmm... if we start participating and interacting with ALAC, that could be
seen as a recognition and endorsement of that unacceptable ICANN Board 'set
up'... I suggest that if we publish comments on behalf of our organisation,
we would be better publishing them to other forums / lists. Once you start
to dignify ALAC as if it deserves to exist at all, they will use that to
demonstrate that they are indeed the forum for At Large policy development
etc etc. "Look! Look at the dialogue we generate! There are lots of User
groups involved in our processes... *including IcannAtLarge* !!!" We should
be saying virtually nothing to ALAC except: Insist on elected At Large Board
members as a pre-requisite for any participation at all. Denounce what the
ICANN Board has done to date. Insist that every single represent on ALAC is
voted into position on the principle of one person one vote. And abandon
ALAC unless *all* these demands are met.

Say just that, again and again and again.

Taking part in the ALAC circus is exactly what ICANN would like us to do...
suck us into their own legitimacy, suck us into a confined and contained
sham which they call 'at large'...

You may think it's "a good thing" Thomas, because you're trying to get ALAC
off the ground.

Personally, I take that commendation as a sign that it's probably a *bad*
thing!
