RE: [atlarge-discuss] Archive Missing?

Just a few words on this topic:

Thomas and fitug.de have genereously hosted the list and related lists
to icannatlarge dot org for a long time, we should at the very least be
gratefull that these lists were saved from take-over, hijacking or other
nasty things. Thomas has told us that he will a. be prepared to continue
to host those lists and b. preserve the archives.
In the meantime, under the impression that lists and especially the
panel list should be under control of the panel that is elected I have
offered (which was accepted) to host the new list on a dedicated server
for icannatlarge.org.
As I have ran DNS for the icannatlarge.org domain for the past period I
am able to add subdomains to the domain which I have done udner the
impression that services for icannatlarge should at least be held under
the domain that was chosen to be the official one. I have done the same
with the ircd. I also did a "wget" on the previous panel-archives and
made the archive subdomain to host those, just in case there would be at
any given moment a misunderstanding or a accidental deletion.

The website however is not on this dedicated server, nor is it on any of
my servers. However the previous panel (Bruce at least) has/had access
to the server where that is hosted. It is very simple to move it over to
the dedicated server I have donated to the icannatlarge.org and give
access to a webcommittee to start working on the site however I feel
that there should at least be a consensus among the members and or the
panel to do so.

I am sure we do not need access to that site in order to move it, as I
said as long as the dns is pointed to my NS I can alter the records to
show another server as primary www in which case the change to the
dedicated server is simple, again, I will NOT do so on my own account,
every change made till now has been discussed and the ircd runs
"provisionary" untill the panel approves it (or the membership). I
offered to do the DNS under the strict rule that I would NEVER temper
with the files and I will stick to that promise no matter what.

The only "snag" in this is the fact that somebosy has the "power" to
alter the nameservers set on the domain by accessing the registrars
management panel, in order to prevent that the passwd for that should be
in the hand of the curren panel, but as it seems we have a promise that
no one will temper with that we might as well wait untill
icannatlarge.org is incorporated and put the domain in the legal name of
the organization.

Kind regards

Abel
