Untested software? Unknown program options? Human error? Whatever...

Folks -

Using a read-only list to check-out our 1,000 eMail addresses was a good
idea, had it been implemented as a read-only list and had it contained a
simple "We are updating...ignore this..." type message.

Note I said a simple message.

We (this group) seem to be plagued with more than our share of "good
intentions," we seem equally plagued by an inability to learn from these
mistakes, and then we seem hell-bent on thanking those involved for all
their "help..."
