Re: [atlarge-discuss] ALAC

I couldn't agree with you more, Hugh, if you are calling into question the
prefix 'ICANN-' at the front of our name!

This presupposes that ICANN is what Internet use and user organisation is
all about.

The dindling-to-non-existant interest in ALAC demonstrates what a deception
that viewpoint is.

ZERO contributions on the ALAC list there.

THOUSANDS of contributions each month here on this one.

And MANY other user organisations all over the world, who no allegiance to
this Californian quango, ICANN.

I encourage our organisation to review yet again the proper and appropriate
name we should adopt, prior to any form of incorporation.

We are an 'alternative ALAC'.

We should structure globally as soon as possible, and mobilise, and press on
to a formal status - so that we can be a magnet and beacon to all kinds of
user groups and individuals, who care little or nothing for ICANN, but do
care about their own freedoms to use the DNS, without interference from USG,
Big Business, IP constituency, or a handful of self-perpetuating unknowns
who have installed themselves (with USG assistance) at ICANN.

For goodness sake, break free from ICANN and its wretched name, and begin
the real, alternative resistance!

yrs,

Richard Henderson

Seems like thousands and thousands of people really care...

Remind me why this organization is called ICANNatlarge? Why are
we associating with that organization?
