Hugh and @Large,

I will reiterate my willingness to contribute to this effort on the
By-laws and Articles of Incorporation since previous comments to that
effect may have been overlooked under different Subject headings.

This effort should be of the utmost priority for our group and I will
make every effort to advance the plain language document which will
enable us to grow as quickly as feasible.

Greetings Members,

The Panel has completed voting on the formation of a 
Working Group to write a mission statement and the
by-laws for the atlarge. This links to the complete wording:

The mandate of this group is:
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. gather all previous proposals on the mission statement and bylaws 
   of this organization and post them on the atlarge web site 
2. initiate discussions on these proposals on the members-only
   mailing list but do their work on a wg specific mail list
   with public archives.
3. solicit further proposals and comments from the members,
4. consider the legal requirements of incorporating in different 
   jurisdictions,
5. summarize all proposals, discussion and comments, and prepare 
   a draft of the mission statement and bylaws,
6. submit the initial draft to the general membership for their 
   comments and to prepare a revised draft which shall incorporate 
   such comments as the wg would deem wise, and
5. to submit the final draft first to the panel, then to the general 
   membership, for their approval as soon as possible.

Now is the time to get involved in this project. Please consider
joining this group and assisting in this effort. Post your
interest and willingness to join. I'll try to capture all your
names over the next few days and get this group started.
