[Ich traue keiner Statistik, die ich nicht selber gefaelscht habe.
Diese Statistik hier betrachtet ausschliesslich Aktivitaeten vor dem
EPO und blendet die Anmeldungen bei den nationalen Patentaemtern
voellig aus. Ausserdem ist mir nicht klargeworden, ob die
geographische Aufschluesselung nun eine _Anmelder_statistik oder eine
_Erfinder_statistik sein soll -beides kann beliebig divergieren. Ich
habe daher gewisse Zweifel an der Serioesitaet dieser Statistik --AHH]

European patent applications
Germany is by far the most active Member State
Applications filed by the EU up by 40% since 1990
In 1999, nearly 45 000 patent applications were filed at the European
Patent Office (EPO)1, by inventors from the fifteen EU Member States,
which was 40% up on the 1990 figure. Within the EU, Germany was the
most active country with 44% of Community patent applications and
almost 500 applications per million people in the labour force in
1999.
