      WASHINGTON (AP) -- Jon Postel, the Internet pioneer who wielded   
    enormous influence managing technical details of the global computer
   network, has died of complications from heart surgery in Los Angeles,
              friends in Washington said Saturday. He was 55.
  

Jon Postel hat eine Vielzahl von Internet-Standards entwickelt und via RFC
dokumentiert (u.a. die RFCs fuer TCP und IP), und die letzten 30 Jahre die 
"IANA" (Internet Architecture Numbers Association) praktisch eigenhaendig 
betrieben.  Ein grosser Verlust fuers Internet.
