General Information:
Over 35,000 key industry players from over 120
countries are expected to attend IBC99, the
world's electronic media event, taking place in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 10 to 14
September 1999.
Also present will be the world's major technology
suppliers, comprising over 600 exhibitors in nine
exhibition halls.
A series of papers, panels, workshops and, for the
first time this year, a string of mini-conferences
have been designed to familiarise delegates with
the latest topics and technology. Subjects to be
addressed include metadata, compression,
interfacing and networking for multimedia systems,
and digital audio delivery. In particular the
effects on the broadcast industry of the
anticipated digital revolution and the emergence
of the Internet will be debated.
