  Of course it not necessarily true that if non-standard DNS (Whatever that is
today)
would cause any functionality loss of any kind as long as other DNS software
is backward compatible.  In fact this is already being done without any loss
in functionality today.  Hence I cannot find your comment/statement here
to be anything other than alarmist....
