Only two points, Jefsey.
1. Who's going to represent the interests of at-large individuals and small
business in South Asia, which populates more than 1.5 billion people, has the
largest concentration of technically educated and trained professionals, and
which is exporting the largest percentage of intellectual capital to the most
technically advanced nations, such as the U.S., Western Europe, Canada, and
Australia? There was not a single candidate (nominated or selected) from
South Asia in the current election!
Asia is big, but it is diverse, too. If we keep ignoring countries in the
Indian subcontinent and China, we'd have the situation we have today
regarding the nuclear arms. We will also be ignoring 2/3rd of the World's
population. After all the there is some reason for "Indo" in "Indo-European
languages".
2. There should be a small fee for membership so that it is taken seriously,
but neither ICANN nor any registrar or ISP should have any part in it. An
elected member of the "at-large council" can handle it or a nonprofit
organization such as Common Cause.
