There is a discussion about ICANNs budget.
Does anybody have market numbers handy?
How many registrations, renewals, etc. are there annually?
NSI claims nearly 12 million registrations. ICANN lists roughly 2.5 million
ccTLD registrations. At 33 cents per DN that adds to over $ 4.5 million
for ICANN. Which should be sufficient for 16 heads!
The users, the domain registrars, are feeding the system.
Charges for registration, renewal, update, move, etc.
are between ?? to $ 100.
IMHO there is plenty of room for ICANNs budget.
