Folks,
please let's stick with some basic rules of traffic reduction and
politeness. In particular, please avoid:
- Public netiquette reminders directed to an individual member of
this list. You are welcome to do this in private messages.
- Inflammatory language. If a proposal is bullshit from a (e.g.)
technical or other point of view, feel free to point this out in
the appropriate technical terms, and giving the appropriate
technical reasons.
- Public "me too" or "well done" postings as replies to a message
from someone else ("Thank you for raising this important issue. I
agree with you", "Your .02 cents worth looks to be a good
investment! Thank you for sharing it with everyone..."). The
obvious exception here are replies to messages which were intended
to poll list members' opinions and/or consensus on a certain
topic.
- Postings which don't have anything to tell but your personal
opinion ("Yes I believe you are wrong here"). When you want to
make a point, please give a rationale why you believe you are
right (and someone else may be wrong).
Thanks for listening,
