Hi All,
whish to set up a new topic on this list. Perhaps it facilitates some
seroius thinking about structure that matters rather than childish tit-
for-tat games:
Soon the election itself will begin. Hence, I looked into the election
rules today

, because they will strongly determine the outcome. Of course they
are written in best lawyers-english.
The "Preferential Vote System" will be used, which means that
participating members can *rank* the candidates, if they whish.
So far so clear, but here it comes:
If no one gets a majority of first-ranked-votes, the least-ranked-
candidate gets eliminated. Then the votes of the eliminated
candidate get redistributed to the *second ranked candidates*.
If I do understand it correctly: This system helps the second ranked
candidate, if no clear decision by the electorate is being made.
May produce interesting results, since actions, as well as the at-
large-membership itself remains unpredictable, or not?
Any thoughts on this?
Best
CH
