For my opinion Andy (and his government statement) is completely on the
right way.

There has to be a stop on the continued march back for civil-rights in the
internet. It cannot be, that the claim for TM-law to dominate each
namespace and this way the internet, will be accepted.
This way we make (and consolidate) a system of privileges, and tell, all
thing that deals with business and money (and might buy with its money a
trade-mark) has always the better right than any other (especially
non-profit-) group and activities.
That may be the status now, but not acceptable, if you not say: we are a
society of companies and business or government-people, and all others may
take, what is left after we (the commercials) got, what we need.
So we have to decide, if the internet should represent a commercial-society
OR a civil-democratic-society, where ALL people / users will have equal
rights to communicate.

Of course, we have to see, that most lawyers earn their money by serving
commercial companies and affairs, and therefore will stand (and fight) for
the commercial interests.
So we must not wonder, they are claiming, that all the internet-namespace
has to be under the TM-law.
Instead we need a charta of civil-rights for the Internet and also perform
good proposals like a .tm-TLD, as Andy told.
So he's on the right way, to let the net be an real democratic and free
space, that it should be.
