Dear all,
a final comment before I am more or less
disconnected for a week:
The European registrars are setting up an organization
called CO-EUR (le coeur? ;)) in preparation for
the .eu TLD.
If you look at the .eu Interim Steering Group proposal
(http://www.ec-pop.org/1009prop/index.htm),
you will find that many groups (in DNSO terms:
constituencies) are organizing or organized now:
-- Registrars (CO-EUR)
-- ccTLD Registries (CENTR)
-- DNS Root and IP Addressing (ICANN/RIPE NCC)
-- commercial users
-- public sector users
-- private and non-commercial users --> ?!?
CO-EUR wants to be ready before the next meeting of
the EC Panel of Participants (EC-POP) on 11-Jan-2001.
http://www.ec-pop.org/
We might want to think about how private and non-commercial
users should be represented, and whether it is possible not
to duplicate the efforts for ICANN and the .EU registry.
But we might *also* want to enjoy the holidays (even the
DNSO Business Constituency is playing Jingle Bells on their
homepage...) -- so: best wishes to everyone! *<:-)
