While you're at it -- NCDNHC has just held elections.
DNSO Names Council members:
Milton Mueller, Vany Martinez, YJ Park
NCDNHC Administrative Committe members:
Milton Mueller, Vany Martinez, YJ Park,
Dany Vandromme, Thierry Amoussougbo

Wouldn't that ultimately lead to a stronger ICANN
role vs. the ccTLD registries? I'm not sure whether
these ccTLD issues aren't resolved better at the local
(=cc) level.
However, I would very much appreciate if you could give
us some more information about the Study Committee's
current status. Originally, the SC should present
its first preliminary report in Melbourne. But it seems
that the SC currently only consists of three persons?!
On the ICANN site there is only a press release and
the charter. What about the plans for physical meetings?
Secondly: What about the release of registration and
voting data? I remember that some database expert was
supposed to anonymize the data and make it publicly
available, but I haven't received any answer as to when.
(Somehow, I could imagine that the data will be released
immediately before or after the Melbourne meeting. In
order to get the study efforts under way, it should
be released as soon as possible -- there's not much to
research for a post-election study without the election
data!)
My fear is that the At Large study efforts are delayed
due to such 'technicalities' and lack of coordination
by the Study Committee -- in the end, this means a delay
in the replacement of the interim At Large directors.
Best regards,
/// Alexander
PS: I strongly support the idea of an ICANN 'diary' ("My
dear diary" -- or blog, as we call them nowadays ;)) if
it's feasible for Andy! (The label ICANN Blog is of course
reserved for Bret Faussett's *excellent* page at
http://www.lextext.com/icann/)
