The Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) has urged the government to closely monitor the new trend of electronic money (E- money) transactions, which is virtually untraceable and a new channel for laundering money.

Dr Anuchit Anuchitakul, an executive from the Bank of Thailand (BOT), said that the government should institute pre-emptive measures to counter money laundering using e-money transactions or e-purse.

On behalf TDRI, Anuchit is researching the subject "e-money transaction, monetary policy and money laundering" to provide information, for those who are interested in E-money.
