Four separate reports on the implementation of teleworking have been published in the latest issue of the European Journal of Engineering for Information Society Applications (EJEISA), which is available on the NECTAR Information Update at:

The four reports are:

• Colin Coulson-Thomas on implementing teleworking. The world of work is undergoing a revolution brought about by the application of the converging technologies of the information age. In order to take advantage of the new opportunities offered y electronic commerce, a wide choice of new methods of working must be examined. Colin Coulson-Thomas of the NECTAR Editorial Board considers the option and present results form the COBRA Project;
• Serge Le Roux & Nicole Turbé-Suetens on trade unions and the development of telework. Unions are generally considered an inhibitor to the development of telework. This article seeks to find the reasons for this misconception and to show that unions do not impede the implementation of the new methods of working made possible by information and communication technologies;
• Monica Blake on teleworking from the teleworker's perspective. After describing the positive aspects of teleworking, it looks at the down side and suggests ways in which good management practice can alleviate some of the problems that teleworkers might encounter; - Horace Mitchell on the use of the web in teleworking. Horace Mitchell, Programme Director of European Telework Development, looks at how some low-budget websites deliver excellent results for their owners and target audiences, while many high-budget online projects either struggle to attain a critical mass of users or generate more brickbats than plaudits.

EJEISA has grown out of the NECTAR project, which disseminates the public results of the EU Telematics Engineering Sector and provides comment on these results and related topics.
