Hackers Face Penalties in Australia

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) - Computer hackers could face years in prison for sabotaging Web sites under tough new proposals released Saturday by the Australian government.

Hackers responsible for Web site attacks similar to those launched this week on AOL and Yahoo could face up to 10 years behind bars if the Model Criminal Code discussion paper becomes law.
