I've been away so maybe an announcement has already been made that Joseph Burton has been Dmitry's attorney since about July 24.

Mr. Burton is a partner with the San Francisco office of Duane, Morris and Heckscher. He is highly experienced criminal attorney who specializes in cybercrime and cybersecurity cases. He is a former Assistant US Attorney and head of the office in San Jose now prosecuting Dmitry. His bio:

Mr. Burton said today that Dmitry is in good spirits and is in the process of being transferred from Las Vegas to San Jose, probably to arrive this Friday. Discussions are being held with the US Attorney's office on Dmitry's status and prospects for the case. Documentation on the case will be available after Dmitry arrives in San Jose.

The US Attorney's office in San Jose revealed Burton's role on July 24 without letting Burton know beforehand -- he had wanted to avoid publicity while case discussions were underway. Burton said today he's pleased to be revealed. A fund-raising campaign is to be announced shortly.
