When Irish rock band The Corrs gave an impromptu concert at the European parliament in Strasbourg, they were part of a sophisticated lobbying attempt by record labels to hijack the European Union's directive on copyright protection. Euro-MPs flocked around Andrea Corr, the lead singer, to ask for her autograph. They may remember her on Monday when members of the parliament's legal affairs committee vote to amend the copyright rules regarded as the most lobbied directive ever.
