This comes from China's state Xinhua news agency:

"Over 800 Internet bars in this capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province recently installed a kind of Internet security software called 'Internet Police' to enforce on-line safety regulations. ...

"[V]isitors attempting to enter banned web sites or pages will be warned, and the screen will be automatically shielded off once the page is opened.

"Moreover, the 'Internet Police' are able to capture designated computer screens and cast them on the screen of the central controlling office under the local public security bureau, where police will be on duty round the clock from the end of September, when the installation work in all Internet bars in the city has been finished.

"The software also has several other functions including on-line registration, automatic alarms and upgrades, information distribution, and Internet surfing records tracing."
