Hi Declan,

I had sent you this before, but as BCC. Perhaps it got eaten by anti-spam filters? Feel free to publish it on politech.

For c't magazine, I've written an article about the current mess of the Dutch tapping rooms. This affair has not been limited to the "internet media", but made it all the way into the Dutch parliamant. It is a very serious issue that can use a lot of international media attention. Since the Dutch are the leading country in setting up a national tapping infrastructure, many countries, such as the Tjech Republic, are closely monitoring the Dutch situation.

To reach the international audience, I've translated this article and made it available online in English. Feel free to copy, quote or link to this information. Many background links (mostly in Dutch), including video streams of Dutch TV, are included at the end of the article.

Dutch tapping room not kosher

"According to anonymous sources within the Dutch intelligence community, all tapping equipment of the Dutch intelligence services and half the tapping equipment of the national police force, is insecure and is leaking information to Israel. How difficult is it to make a back-door in the Dutch Transport of Intercepted IP Traffic[1] system?"
