Danny and all stakeholders or other interested parties and members,

The PGA is a world wide organization and has been around for
a number of decades. Hence I doubt that it could in any way be
remotely comparable to a "Book Club"...

Indeed it seems it is not. Be that as it may your comparison is so
askew of a reasonable comparison as to be inconsequential.

Yes, this may be one of the goals of one or another Atlarge organizations.
But it need not be the ONLY or PRIMARY goal. Such a goal should be
decided by the members of such an ATlarge...

Regardless of the context Danny, and Atlarge will undoubtedly have
internal rivals amongst members. This is the nature of such an
organization if it is to be truly representative. For instance I am
both a member of the Texas Democrats and the Texas Republican
Party caucus.

Incorrect. There are Republicans in the Texas and other southern
states Democratic Party organizations. The are commonly called
"Blue Dog Democrats", and often swing voters for republican
initiatives and policy positions. This has been true for a number of
decades as well.. And these "Blue Dog Democrats" also often
do not vote party line initiatives in the US House of Representatives
quite frequently.

Although you may be a proponent of a "Party" type structure as
Esther Dyson and Joop T., also seem to be, as key in an Atlarge
organization that context would be askew of what an Atlarge that
in inclusive of any and all stakeholders/users as the ICANN MoU
envisions. Therefore such a structure would be divisive and
less than a open membership for individuals.

Principals are indeed very important. None the less we live in a ever
changing world and principals are also often part of that changing
world as they too, may need to change, and many have. Hence
the "Loyal Opposition" could and in some instance would be a
welcome and necessary catalyst for such changes.

Yes he did. I felt as did many that he was wrong. But had he been a
candidate from an Atlarge, he may not have been elected or especially
re-elected.

  Because he is a stakeholder/user.

I don't consider opposition folks as "Bastards". Rather I consider
them a form of "Loyal Opposition". We must as our present US
president Geroge W. Bush did in Texas as Gov. and no doing as
President, have a bigger tent and work with such various
"Loyal opposition" members. In doing so we become a stronger,
wiser, and more considerate organization.
