VISION
To MAINTAIN and advance the interests of all Internet participants
through an open, democratic process of innovation, communication, and
cooperation that secures the rights of individuals against the forces of
tyranny.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission Statement of ORGANIZATION ("IAL"), an independent non-profit
organization that draws its membership from individual Internet users at
large ("USERS").
- To ESTABLISH a voice for all USERS, fostering and maintaining a high
standard of integrity, honesty, and consensus in every Internet
oversight organization ("IOO"), including those overseeing Internet
domain names, numbers, protocols, and others.
- To PROMOTE the appropriate functioning of the Internet, and cultivate,
and disseminate knowledge and information concerning the duties and
responsibilities of IAL members, IOOs, and USERS.
- To FURNISH information as an open organization, regarding the IOOs,
their members, and the IAL, to all IAL members and any interested
parties.
- To ENCOURAGE, advance, and sustain open communications among and
between IAL members, USERS, and the IOOs.
- To PROVIDE a mechanism and means for all USERS to have their voices
heard in the IOOs, through supporting the election of IOO Board Members
by USERS and providing ongoing consultation to IOOs on Internet issues.
