[atlarge-discuss] (fwd) [icann-announce] ICANN Announces Nominating Committee Chair and Interim At-Large Advisory Committee Members

Congratulations to Vittorio and Thomas and any other member for their
appointment to ALAC even though of course we hope such top down
appointments will be one off once bottom up elections are in place.

Of the ten people appointed, seven appear to have significant
experience or commitment to at large issues plus we have one former
Chair of ICANN, one person who seems more a rep of the IP Constituency
(no at large or non commercial involvement) and one likewise who
appears to have a business background only with no at large or user
involvement.

However overall seven out of ten is better than I expected and I look
forward to seeing progress from the ALAC towards genuine democratic
user involvement.
