Re: [atlarge-discuss] the root and the terror

Never known if the reposnse was actuelly true. But the meaning is different. The leader of the "poor ladies" claiming for bread was the king's cousin (who voted the death as he wanted to be the people's king) and many of the ladies of the riot were men in disguise. The idea was exactly the same the one we discuss : poverty is not the reason of the terrorism but it provides terrorists or more in motivates some riches in becoming terrorist. There were some poverty left, so the poors were reasons for others to be upset. But mostly the reason why to get the richess of the others (the Republic _sold_ the property of the Nobles and of Church, when they tell you they killed Nobles and burnt castle, many agreed to low the value of the castle. Terror roughly killed 33.000 people. Really too bad, all the more many brillant people and priests we would haved needed afteward were killed. But how many a single battle of Napoleon?)

FYI the richess per capita is a good figure to know revolution risks in every country. Starving people do not think to built a revolution, riots out of despair yet, not revolution: you need to be feed to think. However again, starving people are used.

In 1780, France was at one of its richest level and the call of deputations was to discuss how to best manage it. You have to be able to foot the cost of a revolution. Just remember that between 1788, the date of the decision to call on national representatives and 1812 the date Napoleon signed the creation of the French National Theather in burning Moscow, we had the money to invade (success or not the cost is the same): Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Egypt, Germany, Austria, Russia, fight UK and Sweden, to free Poland and a few others. These were quite expensive 25 years (10 years less than the time to build the net). And after? No Marshal plan. 15 years later on we invade Africa and start building an Empire. 40 years later on the same in Mexico. Awfull lot of money and technology. I do think GW Bush should carefully read the French Kings and Napoleonic history. Napoleon had his Ben Laddens: they were the French Royalists (nearly killed him a few times and made him to make his biggest mistakes). He was bond to fight England because of them (he signed a peace with England for one year). At that time oil was not the key, but the key was also business. The fight was not over Iraq but over Belgium as the continental gate of England.

BTW Holger and Jefsey, how many poor people have you
helped directly feed today? If your answer is none, than you
are also two minds that need changing...
At least one (me) and hopefully the three others of my familly.
And hopefully many many others through my political and technical fight for 25 years now for a true, efficient, open, respectfull of the human being, soul and culture; datacommunication _services_ (not merchant information and communications _products_).
