[atlarge-discuss] FYI: Update on California Net Tax Bill

All fellow members,

This is a few days old..

May 9, 2003
California Senate Approves Net Tax Bill
See: http://siliconvalley.internet.com/news/article.php/2204231
and http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/05/12/1911245

"Grant Erickson points to this [1]internet.com story, which says "On
Thursday, the California state Senate approved a bill that requires
businesses with stores in the state to charge their customers sales tax
for purchases made over the Internet." The state's huge ($35 billion)
budget deficit is named as a driving force for the measure."

This is an issue that should be in the interest of our members
here in the ICANNATLARGE.ORG. Has any California
member approached their state congress person regarding this
bill? If so, can that member possibly provide some insight on that
contact.

Regards,
