[atlarge-discuss] There & Here



Some of you might be interested in what the rest of the community has been 
doing recently:

Registrars -- Adopted bylaws governed by Robert's Rules of Order; ongoing 
discussion of issues related to fraudulent transfers; Set up teleconference on 
WHOIS in which there were 51 participants (including NTIA representatives); 
additional correspondence on WLS submitted to the ICANN Board; discussion on 
reinstating the "no charge five days pending delete period".

Business Constituency -- At final draft stage on constituency bylaws; 
released position paper on WIPO2 recommendations.

Intellectual Property Constituency -- submitted position paper on IGOs and 
Country Names; provided member briefing on the work of the United Nations 
Information and Communications Technologies Task Force; submitted position paper on 
Bulk WHOIS;  ongoing discussion on WHOIS implementation committee work and 
data protection. 

Registries -- finalizing contract amendments involving the Redemption Grace 
Period; produced Constituency statement on new gTLDs.

ALAC -- currently working on statement regarding re-direction of non-existing 
domain names; submitted commentary on RALOs and their criteria.

Non-Commercial Constituency -- finalizing Constituency Charter revisions; 
providing recommendations to the Names Council regarding the Privacy/WHOIS 
steering committee

Perhaps you have noticed the focus on DNS issues... so, what DNS issues will 
icannatlarge be responding to?  Oh, I forgot... this group doesn't ever intend 
to discuss DNS issues or to submit a position paper on anything... it's 
remains much too pre-occupied with other pressing matters to actually accomplish 
anything worthwhile...
