While the Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings on the future of
digital music, an artist-driven coalition against online music piracy
kicked off a national campaign Tuesday with full-page advertisements
in USA Today, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall
Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
Under the headline "If a Song Means a Lot to You, Imagine What it
Means to Us," the ad included endorsements by about 70 recording
artists, including Aimee Mann, Alanis Morissette, Barenaked Ladies,
Christina Aguilera, and Faith Hill.

value of music and the importance of the creators, and to give
artists a very powerful voice in the dialogue of technology and
music," said Artists Against Piracy executive Noah Stone.
