1. Hans Klein "confirms"  his irrelevancy to certain people, just because
he questions the independence of political appointees in general.
2. There are (were)  people willing the give "the US liberals" another
chance to participate effectively in  At Large. 

Questions: what was the first chance that they had? 
Who *are* the people who apparently determine who gets a chance to
participate effectively in  At Large?
What is the chance for non-US "liberals" (or just those who believed the
early bottom-up rhetoric) to participate?
