This letter is my resignation from the atlarge.com temporary steering
committee. I agreed to serve on the temporary Steering Committee in order
to help move along the at large organizing effort, and to hold the next
election within the 90 days. In my opinion, the panel is not committed to
making the next election happen within the 90 days, and I do not want to be
part of a panel that will not hold a timely election for its own replacement.
I wish the remaining panel members and the atlarge.com membership the best,
and encourage the panel to address the need to actually organize an
election. In this regard, I will note that some groups that might provide
election services will want to have evidence that such efforts are actually
supported and authorized by the panel itself, and that the Chair of the
panel needs to be more engaged in the election issue.
Sincerely,
James Love
