  Yes this would be a great idea.  And it has been suggested before.

  Another good idea that has been recently and repeatedly suggested
is that the Website should be turned over to the membership, hosted
where it is not in a potential COI situation, and a mailing list that
uses the ICANNATLARGE.COM Domain.
