While I agree, I would just be careful to point out that the ALAC
must not fall into the "At Large trap": If the At Large only
discusses the issue of At Large, the whole thing becomes pointless
and circular, and it will be used against At Large. It might be very
useful to have a working group of the ALAC work on pragmatic solutions
e.g. for elections, but I would like to see the At Large work much 
more on substantive issues like Whois, domain deletions, dispute 
resolution etc. than in the past.

(Unfortunately, in my view there are many people discussing At Large 
issues who have never once said anything about substantive domain
name issues. Nobody is forced to have an opinion on the Wait List
Service, Internationalized DNS or Uniform Deletion Policies, but
frankly, it makes you wonder when people /only/ participate in
meta-discussions and are not interested in the issues themselves. 
(And I'm obviously not referring to Izumi here, just to make that clear!))
