This is a good idea and ICANN BOD members as well as
the DNSO NC should have done this long ago as I and many
others had recommended some 3 years ago. However you also
realize that even with this sort of a statement, COI concerns
will and do remain.

Yes and yet another betrayal of their sometimes previously stated
positions. Yet as we all should have learned by now that Esther
Dyson at least has never believed in bottom-up or stakeholder/user
representation on issues or electing their leaders of choice...
