I do not see the legal problem at all. Yes, there was a private opinion
expressed that ICANNatlarge may be using the ICANN element illegally.

ICANNatlarge is the only "worldwide" organization recognized in the present
ICANN process. My fear is quite on the opposite end: if the membership should
vote to change the ICANNatlarge name to something else, we lose the position
which we until now rightly (and recognized by ICANN) have, as one of the
self-organized bodies to which ICANN has to listen (even if the board does not
agree with our voice).
